How to Make Your Fightwear Last Longer
Good fightwear is an investment — and with the right care, it’ll last through years of hard training. Here’s how to keep your rashguards, shorts, and spats in top shape.
1. Cold Wash Only
Always wash your gear in cold water. Hot water damages the fabric elasticity and breaks down sublimated prints faster.
2. Use Mild Detergents
Stick to basic, gentle detergents. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, or anything with harsh chemicals — they kill technical fabrics.
3. Hang Dry
Never tumble dry your fightwear. Heat shrinks, warps, and weakens the material. Hang it up and let it air dry naturally.
4. Wash After Every Use
Even if you didn’t sweat much, always wash your gear after each session. Sweat and bacteria break down fabrics over time.
5. Avoid Rough Surfaces
Concrete, rough mats, and Velcro from other gear can snag your rashguards and shorts. Be mindful when you're off the mats.
Take care of your gear — and it’ll take care of you during every battle.
